The Forced Migration Research Network–Kenya (FOMREK) is committed to promoting open, high-quality, and locally grounded research on forced migration and displacement.This section provides answers to frequently asked questions about our publications, submission process, and access to research outputs. It aims to guide contributors, readers, and partners in understanding how FOMREK produces, reviews, and disseminates knowledge that informs policy and practice across Kenya and the wider region.

The Forced Migration Research Network-Kenya (FOMREK) is a consortium of academic institutions, civil society organizations, and research centers committed to producing localized knowledge on forced displacement in Kenya. Launched in October 2024, FOMREK brings together scholars and practitioners to challenge dominant global narratives, co-create evidence with state and non-state actors, and inform policy solutions for refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and host communities.

FOMREK welcomes submissions of original research, policy commentaries, working papers, seminar proceedings, and case studies aligned with our five thematic pillars. Submissions should prioritize localized evidence, challenge dominant frameworks where appropriate, and demonstrate relevance to Kenya's policy landscape.
